The MDX-40A CNC milling machine combines a subtractive rapid prototyping (SRP) system with a CNC milling machine. It enables low-cost functional prototypes to be made from polymeric materials, resins or wood. The machine has a working volume of 305 mm x 305 mm x 105 mm and a resolution of 0,002 mm/step (micro-step control). By using the additional fourth rotary axis, it is possible to automatically rotate the workpiece for machining on all sides. MDX-40A is equipped with a contact scanning probe that can be installed on the spindle of the machine, which allows to acquire digital version of the surfaces placed on the working area.
