Abstract
On the occasion of her retirement, Prof. Barbara Pernici of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano will deliver her farewell lecture, titled “50 anni al Politecnico e dintorni.”
The lecture will retrace a journey of study and research spanning the years from 1975 to 2026, a period marked by profound transformations in information and communication technologies. Beginning with her early work on chess, Prof. Pernici will reflect on the evolution of information-processing systems and on the main research areas that have shaped her academic career.
Alongside her research activities, she will also discuss selected experiences in applying digital technologies within the University, with particular reference to web development, online testing, and doctoral education.
The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
