On June 24, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., in the Aula Magna of the Politecnico di Milano (Piazza Leonardo da Vinci 32, Milan), and with the possibility of joining via livestream, the conference The Future of Telecommunications: Opportunities from Artificial Intelligence will take place.
The event is organized on the occasion of the publication of the book “Telecommunications: An Industrial Policy for the Twin Transition”, edited by Franco Bassanini and Antonio Perrucci, published by Il Mulino for ASTRID.
The opening remarks will be delivered by Isabella Nova, Deputy Rector for the Implementation of the Strategic Plan at the Politecnico di Milano and Full Professor of Industrial and Technological Chemistry.
The conference will be introduced by Franco Bassanini, President of ASTRID.
Speakers will include Carlo Cambini, Full Professor of Industrial Organization at the Politecnico di Torino; Antonio Capone, Dean of the School of Industrial and Information Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano; Maurizio Decina, Emeritus Professor of Telecommunications at the Politecnico di Milano; Francesco Profumo, President of Isybank - Intesa Sanpaolo and Rector of OPIT - Open Institute of Technology; and Lucrezia Busa, Head of Unit at DG CONNECT, European Commission.
Following this, a roundtable discussion will feature the participation of Giovanni Cristi, Institutional Affairs Delegate at AIIP; Lisa Di Feliciantonio, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer for Fastweb and Vodafone; Pietro Labriola, CEO of TIM; Stefano Pileri, Chief Operating Officer at MaticMind; Oreste Pollicino, Full Professor of Constitutional Law at Bocconi University; Federico Protto, CEO of Cellnex; Michele Rillo, Chief of Staff and External Affairs Director at Iliad; and Ugo Ruffolo, Emeritus Professor of Civil Law at the University of Bologna.
The event will conclude with remarks by Andrea Rangone, Full Professor of Strategy, Marketing, and Digital Innovation at the Politecnico di Milano.
The book’s authors will also be in attendance.
