On October 17th 2020, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, ACRE organizes an online workshop to introduce the ACRE Competition.
The role of autonomous robotics in agriculture is coming of age, and both research and industry are part of this process. Their fruitful collaboration requires reliable ways to assess the performance of systems and subsystems: in a word, objective benchmarks.
The 1st ACRE workshop intends to:
- Outline the state of the art in agri-food robot competitions and present the ACRE competition events for the next years;
- Explore how benchmarking can contribute to the progress of the field and to the development of a market for autonomous agricultural machines and smart implements;
- Launch the ACRE Cascade Campaign, a data-based challenge for researchers in AI, Computer Vision, and Robotics which will take place online from October 2020 till January 2021;
- Involve stakeholders in shaping the ACRE competition, in view of ACRE’s first Field Campaign scheduled for June 2021.
Researchers and companies, but also forward-looking policymakers, are warmly invited to participate.
Participation to the ACRE online workshop is free but requires registration (registered users will be able to also access the recording of the event).
