Abstract
The R&D activities of APEL in high frequency electronic circuits and systems during the last years will be presented. A broad spectrum of applications will be unfolded whereas some milestones with regard to implemented designs will be given. In the last part of the lecture some emphasis will be given in broadband circuits including hybrid and integrated circuits for ultra-wideband (UWB) systems.
Short Bio
Grigorios Kalivas received the Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Patras and the Masters and PhD degrees (both in Electrical Engineering) from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. He worked for 3 years as research associate in the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering at Carleton University where he was responsible for the design and development of broadband transceivers for millimeter –wave frequencies (30- 60 GHz). Since 1994 he is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras where he now serves as a Professor of Electronic circuits and systems. During the last years his research focuses on circuit and system design for 4G, 5G, Point-to-point and Ultra-wideband applications. This research is mostly funded by Greek Research Institutions and the Greek semiconductor industry. Dr. Kalivas has about 90 publications in international Journals and Conferences. He is the author of the book “Digital Radio System Design” by J. Wiley.
