D'Auria Prize
2011 - BONARINI ANDREA, MATTEUCCI MATTEO
In the framework of Robotica2011, the wheelchair-range shared RobyWheelChair (RWC), developed at the AirLab (Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics) of the Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione, was awarded the D'Auria Prize. The award, established by the Societa' Italiana di Robotica Industriale (SIRI), is given "for innovative projects and prototypes of mechatronic devices, which assist wheelchair users."
RWC allows people with different skills and motor control to increase their chances of movement, continuing to express their abilities.
The AIRLab also submitted to Robotica2011 TiltOne, a large balancing robot, and Jedi Trainer, a robogame, a highly interactive game, in which an autonomous flying robot compares with a Jedi apprentice.
