Ricerca realizzata nell'ambito di ShockOmics pubblicata su "Scientific Reports"

Frutto di una collaborazione tra DEIB, IRCCS Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri e Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève, Alice Cambiaghi, Bernardo Bollen Pinto, Laura Brunelli, Francesca Falcetta, Federico Aletti, Karim Bendjelid, Roberta Pastorelli, Manuela Ferrario hanno pubblicato sulla prestigiosa rivista "Scientific Reports" (Nature Publishing Group) un importante studio che apre a nuove possibilità terapeutiche in pazienti di terapia intensiva in shock settico.
Il risultato della ricerca mostra chiaramente come alterazioni di concentrazioni di lipidi abbia un ruolo chiave nella risposta individuale allo stato infiammatorio, inoltre dalle analisi è emerso un ruolo importante del ciclo glucosio-alanina. In particolare, l’alanina potrebbe essere considerato un biomarker più specifico dell’alterazione della funzionalità epatica rispetto alla bilirubina, che è comunemente misurata in clinica.
