Alberto Bernardini received the B.S. degree from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2012 and the M.S. degree (cum laude) from the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, in 2015, both in Computer Engineering. In 2019, he received the Ph.D. degree (cum laude) in Information Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, where he worked as a postdoctoral researcher from 2019 to 2021 and as an Assistant Professor from 2021 to 2025. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria (DEIB) of the Politecnico di Milano. His main research interests include audio signal processing, computational acoustics, and modeling of nonlinear systems. He co-authored more than 110 publications in international journals and proceedings of international conferences and is co-inventor of three international patents. In 2019, he received the Dimitris N. Chorafas Award. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He serves as a Regular Member of both the Digital Signal Processing Technical Committee and of the Nonlinear Circuits and Systems Technical Committee of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. He is also a member of the EURASIP Signal and Data Analytics for Machine Learning (SIG-DML) Technical Area Committee. He previously served as Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems—I: Regular Papers, Digital Signal Processing (Elsevier), and the EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech, and Music Processing. He is currently an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing.
