On September 15th, 2026, at 10:30 am the seminar on "Beyond-5G V2X Cybersecurity: From Virtual Testing to Resilient Connected Mobility" will take place in DEIB PT3 Meeting Room (Building 20A).

This seminar focuses on B5GCyberTestV2X, a research project at Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt addressing cybersecurity challenges in Beyond-5G vehicle-to-everything communication. The project develops a virtual environment for testing V2X functions under cyberattacks such as jamming and spoofing and combines communication-system simulation, broadband MIMO signal processing, direction-of-arrival estimation, beamforming and AI-based detection methods to improve the resilience of connected and autonomous mobility. The presentation will highlight the main concepts, demonstrators and research results of B5GCyberTestV2X. It will conclude with a brief outlook on two recently initiated research activities at HSHL: MedConAI, on secure and intelligent connectivity for medical laboratory devices, and DRONOS, on multimodal sensing and explainable AI for civil drone detection and risk assessment.

Biografia

João Paulo Javidi da Costa is Professor of Applied Electrical Engineering at Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt (HSHL), Germany. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Information Engineering from TU Ilmenau, Germany, in 2010. From 2010 to 2019, he was Associate Professor for Signal Processing at the University of Brasília (UnB), Brazil, where he coordinated the Laboratory of Array Signal Processing and several research projects. From 2019 to 2020, he worked as Senior Development Engineer at EFS in the field of autonomous driving. Since 2020, he has been a professor at HSHL. He is an IEEE Senior Member and has authored more than 210 scientific publications and patents. His research interests include wireless communications, GNSS, adaptive and array signal processing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems.
