Sommario
On Friday, February 27th, 2026, we will have a new talk for the series #NECSTFridayTalk.During this talk, we will have, as speaker, Claudio Di Salvo, PhD at Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria.
Enabling autonomous satellites requires shifting from ground-station image analysis to intelligent onboard hardware. A critical, yet overlooked aspect of this transition is Image Registration (IR), which is central for multi-temporal analysis, change detection, and multimodal data fusion. This talk examines how current IR methods are evaluated on unconstrained platforms, making their on-board readiness unclear and severely limiting satellite autonomy.
The NECSTLab is a DEIB laboratory, with different research lines on advanced topics in computing systems: from architectural characteristics, to hardware-software codesign methodologies, to security and dependability issues of complex system architectures.

Every week, the “NECSTFridayTalk” invites researchers, professionals or entrepreneurs to share their work experiences and projects they are implementing in the “Computing Systems”.
