On November 14, 2025 at 2.30 pm a new seminar of DEEPSE Forum series titled "Open science and open software: issues, challenges, and opportunities" will be held by Prof. Elisabetta Di Nitto.In the last decade, the interest in enabling and promoting open science has emerged and has resulted in initiatives concerning various aspects: open access to papers, replication packages for research data, availability of software, and the like. While the general objectives of this movement toward openness are legitimate and important, they have also introduced some distortions and have highlighted some structural weaknesses we must be aware of. The purpose of this session is to discuss about the state of the art in this context and to identify those initiatives and actions we could endorse, adopt, and promote in our research.
