In the framework of the AI Seminars 2022, on December 15th, 2022 at 5.30 pm, the seminar titled "Online Convex Optimization" will be held by Nicolò Cesa-Bianchi, full professor at Università degli studi di Milano and Politecnico di Milano, in DEIB Conference Room.
Online Convex Optimization is the mathematical framework underlying the design and analysis of online learning algorithms. In online learning, models are sequentially trained on data streams. For this reason, this paradigm is well suited to applications where new data is being generated all the time. In this talk, I will describe the main algorithmic tools for online convex optimization, provide mathematical guarantees on their performance, and show connections to multi-armed bandits and learning equilibria in games.
