In the last few years, Artificial Intelligence has gained ground as an important tool for many Computer Science and Engineering fields. It has also the potential to change the way some traditional optical networking problems can be solved. In this talk, we will discuss its applicability to a few selected traditional problems.
Biografia
Gustavo Bittencourt Figueiredo received the B.Sc. (2000) in computer science from Salvador University, M.Sc.(2003) and Ph.D. (2009) degrees in computer science, both from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). In 2015/2016 he was a visiting scholar at the University of California at Davis. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). Dr. Figueiredo is the leader of the GRADe (High-performance networks research group), whose main research activities include Optical and wireless networking, Software Defined Networks and their convergence. His main research interests include problems involving Network Performance Evaluation, Planning, Dimensioning and Optimization of Optical and Wireless networks.
