Due team del Politecnico di Milano hanno partecipato alla finale del Campionato Universitario dei Makers, che si è tenuto alla European Maker Faire di Roma.
Il primo team, composto da Niccolò Izzo (Ingegneria Informatica), Francesca Bonalume (Ingegneria Informatica) e Pietro Tordini (Design) aveva vinto la tappa milanese che si è tenuta a Polifactory lo scorso ottobre.
Il secondo team è stato invece selezionato come progetto "Social", ovvero il più votato sulla pagina Facebook del campionato, ed è composto da Mattia Sanchioni (Ingegneria dell'Automazione), Nicola Fossati (Ingegneria Elettronica) e Francesco Sgherzi (Ingegneria Elettronica).
I due team si sono classificati rispettivamente 2° e 3°: il team Izzo-Bonalume-Tordini ha perso per un solo punto. Il Politecnico si è distinto per essere l'unica università che ha partecipato con due team/progetti selezionati e poi arrivati sul podio. Uno dei gruppi si è distinto per aver lavorato sulla multidisciplinarietà integrando in modo originale competenze di ingegneria e design; l'altro si è distinto per la capacità di costruire consenso attorno al proprio progetto.
