Analysis of biological systems and e-health
In this seminar, an overview of the activities carried on by Global Health Telemedicine Onlus will be presented, highlighting facilitating factors and barriers connected to setting up teleconsultation services in developing countries, based on the extensive experience gained from the field. Also, open problems and specific needs will be presented, aiming to create a possible substrate for long-standing student collaboration in several practical thesis projects.
Michelangelo Bartolo is Angiology Medical Director at theAzienda Ospedaliera San Giovanni-Addolorata-Britannico in Rome, where he acts as the responsible of the telemedicine division. Since 2001 he has been working in the context of telemedicine with projects in developing countries and has completed tens of missions in sub Saharian Africa to open point of care and telecardiology with the Program DREAM of the Comunità di S. Egidio. Since 2008 he is part of the Directive council of the Italian Society of Telemedicine and Electornic Health (SIT). Since 2013 he has been the Secretary General and founder of Global Health Telemedicine Onlus, providing open source service for multi specialistic consultations with developing countries (www.ghtelemedicine.org).
