Leonardo Drone Contest
July 7th, 2020
Abstract
The first competition of the Leonardo Drone Contest, an Open Innovation project within Unmanned Systems, was presented on July 1, 2020 during an entirely digital symposium in which we talked about technologies and drones, in particular of Artificial Intelligence applied to the scope of unmanned systems.
The Politecnico di Milano is one of the six participating universities which, represented in particular by the PhD students of the Leonardo scholarships and by the professors of the departments involved, presented the teams that work on the project and the technological developments that they have achieved so far and that they will put in play on the occasion of the first competition to be held in September.
In particular, the DEIB represented by AIRLab and by prof. Matteucci as co-advisor, together with the Department of Aerospace Sciences and Technologies, presented a project based on a localization algorithm with focus on motion planning and collision avoidance.
