Abstract
Darian Frajberg has been awarded the “Microsoft AI for Earth Azure Research award” in the context of support provided to projects focused on environmental solutions by granting them with access to cloud and AI computing resources.
The project presented addresses the problem of water scarcity and, in particular, focuses on mountain snow cover monitoring and predictive water system operation by using deep learning techniques.
This research line continues the multidisciplinary contribution made by the “Data, web and society” and “Planning and management of environmental systems” research groups of Politecnico di Milano, which involved: Andrea Castelletti, Matteo Giuliani, Roman Fedorov, Piero Fraternali, Marco Tagliasacchi and Alessandro Camerada.
