Guido Maier, associate professor at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering in an interview with Digital Network 360 states: "The Desi index photographs the situation of our country that we know well and that traditionally sees us weak in many sectors of innovation compared to our European partners. However, this time more than the total index, it is interesting to observe its break-down in the various components. We thus discover that from the point of view of "connectivity", that is the infrastructure of telecommunications networks, Italy is at the top of Europe. This is an important recognition of the efforts and investments that have been made in recent years in our country to modernize our networks, with projects for the widespread installation of optical fibers and the rapid start of 5G trials ".
The collaboration between Adva, Iway and Politecnico di Milano in innovative teaching inaugurated in May with the first edition of the "Smart Networks and Service Orchestration" course was born with the intention of increasing in Italy the dissemination of the skills necessary to face the more innovative technological challenges in the network sector.
