The Rector visited the DEIB I3N Laboratory: Innovative Integrated Instrumentation for Nanoscience
October 24th, 2018
Abstract
The Rector met the researchers of the DEIB I3N Laboratory: Innovative Integrated Instrumentation for Nanoscience.
I3N deals with devising, implementing and operating innovative electronic instruments to detect and control very small electrical signals, enabling scientific adventures in the most varied fields of knowledge.
The laboratory aims to achieve absolute performance and aims at the ability to adapt the microcosm of the world of nano-bio science where an entire measuring instrument can be integrated into a single electronic chip (Instrument-on-chip) of a few square millimeters.
The laboratory has collaborations in the most advanced fields of scientific research in which it is necessary to measure and control electrical signals with resolutions beyond the commercial state of the art.
