Rector visited the SPADlab

Abstract
On 27th June the Rector Ferruccio Resta visited the SPADlab at DEIB.
SPADlab designs and develops photon-counting systems that are enabling technologies for many scientific, industrial and commercial applications, like single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy, cancer diagnosis, brain imaging, 3D ranging, car safety, quantum computing, etc. Single-photon sensitivity is made possible by SPADs (Single-Photon Avalanche Diodes), i.e. microelectronic photodetectors able to provide a digital output in response to a single photon.
