Abstract
On July 30th, 2020 at 6.00 pm Matteo Petrini and Christian De Vita, PhD students of DEIB Photonic Devices research group, will take a talk on “Silicon Photonics for Communication Systems“.
Silicon photonics is emerging as a promising technology for new generation networks.
Its main advantages are low losses, wide bandwidth, low power consumption, and CMOS compatibility.
In this seminar we go through the most important building blocks, composing an optical communication system, from the materials (including Silicon and Silicon Nitride platforms) to the devices (including modulators, filters and photodiodes).
The event will be hold online via Microsoft Teams.
