Born in 1940. Dr. Ing. degree in Electronics from the Politecnico di Milano in 1964. Since 1975, Full Professor of Automatic Control at the Politecnico di Milano. Former Director of the Electronics and Information Engineering Department, and Chairman of the Council for the Automation Engineering degrees. Current or former Associate Editor of: Automatica, Information and Decision Technologies, Optimal Control: Applications and Methods, Studies in Information and Control, Systems Science, Alta Frequenza, La meccanica Italiana, Ricerche di Automatica. Member of the Honorary Editorial Advisory Board of the Systems and Control Encyclopedia. Fellow of IEEE and of IFAC. Main research interests: nonlinear identification and control, periodic control.
