Born in Milan, Italy, in 1969. He received his Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 1995 and his Ph.D. degree in Telecommunication Engineering at the same university in 2000. From 1995 until February 2006 he has been researcher at CoreCom (research consortium supported by Pirelli and Politecnico di Milano in Milan, Italy), where he achieved the position of Head of the Optical Networking Laboratory. On March 2006 he joined the Dipartment of Elettronics and Information at Politecnico di Milano as Assistant Professor. He continues to cooperate with CoreCom on specific projects. From academic year 2004/2005 he teaches the course “Telecommunication Networks Basics” for undergraduate students of the School of Information Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. He also lectures in more advanced courses within the Telecommunication Engineering Master Program. In 2000 he held a course on “Optical Networks” in a post-Laurea Master for professionals organized by CoreCom. He furthermore kept courses for employees and executives of the companies: Pirelli, Telecom Italia, Italtel.
