The Department is heavily involved in international research frameworks devoted to support research globalization.
A special role is played by the Networks of Excellence (NoE) promoted by the European Union. NoEs are especially designed for strengthening excellence by reducing fragmentation in European research. The main goal of the NoEs is a durable structuring and shaping of cooperational research. The DEI is currently partner of several NoEs and aims at increasing the reach of this type of alliance.
