The DEI has spawned the first two spin-off companies of the Politecnico di Milano: the Tre in the year 2000 and Web Models in the year 2001. Out of the 20 spin-off companies participated by the Politecnico di Milano, 8 have been founded by DEI members.
Of the 24 companies incubated at the Politecnico di Milano, 16 were either founded by DEI members or students, or were referred to the DEI.
