The seventh edition of HI-TEC will be held from June 20th to 24th, 2011 at the Politecnico di Milano.
HI-TEC is an innovative active guidance experience offered by the Politecnico di Milano to "excellent" students of the fourth year of the high school, interested in science and technology issues. The project offers a mixed education, online and in the presence (one week), with an innovative educational format that involves students in a multidisciplinary and design activity at the same time. For 2011 HI-TEC offers six guidelines: Architecture, Physics Engineering, Management Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering for Communications. According to 2011 statistics, the program has had, as in past years, a great success: 236 requests were submitted for participation of 120 seats. Requests were received from almost all Italian regions, but particularly from Lombardy and Apulia, with a prevalence of students attending Scientific High School. 116 students were admitted with a good average, above 8.
Since 2005 the percentage of students from Licei (Humanity and Scientific High Schools) has grown to 80% of the participants; the 40% of the HI-TEC participants enrolls at the Politecnico.
