The City of Milan has funded a DEI project to investigate the network about citizens' opinionions on the administration and its choices and the response from tourists.
The aim is to use these data to improve city services.
The team of developers led by Chiara Francalanci, associate professor of Information Systems, has created an automated tool that allows to do sentiment analysis.
This is a program that monitors Twitter, Tripadvisor and LonelyPlane, looking for comments about Milan, for now limited to English.
The tool, whose working title is Wispo, is currently in use at the Directorate of Tourism at the City Hall of Milan.
