Franca Garzotto won the ACM-SIGCHI IDC 2010 Best Paper Award

In June 2010, the Program Committe of the ACM-SIGCHI International Conference on Interaction Design and Children assigned the Best Paper Award to Franca Garzotto and Manuel Bordogna for their article "Paper-Based Multimedia Interaction as Learning Tool for Disabled Children".
The general goals of ACM-SIGCHI IDC (this year held in Barcelona - http://iua.upf.edu/idc2010/), is to better understand children's needs and how to design technology for this target, presenting and discussing the most innovative research in the field of interaction design for children and by gathering the leading minds in the field.
Garzotto&Bordogna’s paper reports their research exploiting RFID technology and tangible interaction to support cognitive, motor, and emotional development of severely disabled children in the school context.
