The World Farmers’ Organisation, WFO, General Assembly 2015 will take place on 24-27 June 2015 in Milan, Italy.
The annual conference will be hosted at Politecnico di Milano and will feature critical discussions on food security, innovation, climate change, energy. A draft program along with other useful information on the logistics for participation is available at: www.wfo-oma.com/GA2015.
The WFO GA, in the framework of Milan EXPO 2015, will adopt a Farmers’ Declaration in response to the theme of the EXPO 2015, “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, ensuring the farmers’ perspective will be represented in the debate.
WFO is a community of geographically balanced entrepreneurial farmers, that regardless their size (small, medium and large-scale farming), gender, age and composition (family farmers), aims to see their rights, as food producers, and role, as economic actors, globally recognized.
WFO’s mandate is to bring together the national producers and agricultural cooperatives with the objective of developing policies in favor and support of the farmers' causes in developed and developing countries. Its mission is to represent and advocate on behalf of farmers in global policy fora and create the conditions for the adoption of policies aimed to improve the economic environment and livelihood of producers, their families, and rural communities.
Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life is the theme of EXPO 2015. For this reason, WFO has decided to hold its General Assembly in Milano in June.
