Measurement and certification services
The DEI Labs host a wide range of equipment for the measurement and the certification of industrial products.
The services offered to companies include, among others:
Anecoic chamber:
- Testing and EM qualification of electronic systems
- Monitoring of EM sources
- Design services to meet EM compatibility regulations
Lab “Circuits and Systems Theory and Applications”:
- device and circuit modelling
- design, development and implementation of tools for numerical analyses
Lab “Radiation Detectors and Low-Noise Electronics”:
- analysis of chemical composition of materials with XRF techniques
- design, test and measurement of radiation detectors
Lab “Single-Photon Detectors and Applications”:
- design, test and characterization of single-photon detectors for the visible and near-infrared wavelength range
- design and development of optoelectronics instrumentation based on single-photon and imaging detectors for applications in the field of biology, medicine, physics, information and communication technology, etc.
- non-invasive optical test of integrated circuits
Lab “Electronic systems”:
- bonding of electronic devices on silicon and organic materials
- chip gluing in nitrogen atmosphere
- verification and integrity control of devices and wafers
- development of printed circuits on multilayer FR4 epoxy glass laminated sheets and Teflon coated sheets
Lab “Analog integrated circuit design”:
- design, simulation, manufacturing (through external foundries) and experimental characterization of CMOS and BiCMOS mixed signal Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC’s)
- design and use of instrumentation in order to access to the electronic properties of devices at the nanoscale
- design and test of integrated circuits for interaction with biological systems
Lab “Electron Devices”:
- analytical and experimental studies of elemental and compound semiconductor devices (Si, SiC, GaN, GaAs, CdTe, CdZnTe) and organic devices
- on chip and on wafer electron device characterization
Measurement laboratory:
- characterization of optical instrumentation
- study and development of measurement sensors for dedicated applications
- design and development of electro-optical prototypes and instruments
- development of data acquisition systems
Automatic control laboratory:
- Experimental verification of control techniques for discrete event systems
- Measurement of capacity, state-of-charge and ageing of Lithium batteries
- Experimental verification of motion control algorithms
