Abstract:

Computer viruses (self propagating malicious code) are a traditional threat to computer systems and networks. Modeling their propagation is interesting for at least two reasons: first, an accurate model can indicate the dangerousness of a given propagation vector. Second, using models we can accurately design preventive measures and compare their efficiency. In this seminar we will introduce the basic concepts of these techniques, and create a few example models of well known viral vectors.
