bI/O: A Portable Biosignal Acquisition System for Research Applications

Abstract:
Biosignal analysis is an active research field applied to many different purposes, ranging from health care to medical research and brain-computer interfacing. New applications usually need different specifications with respect to traditional medical applications for which most commercial acquisition systems have been designed, arising the need of a new kind of device.
The aim of bI/O project is to enable researchers with custom needs to develop their work with an highly customizable modular device that does not impose the constraints of a commercial product.
