In the first part of the talk, Sita will present a brief overview of the Clayton School of IT (previously called Computer Science & Software Engineering School) and the research projects that have been undertaken recently under Sita's supervision. These are in the areas of trusted components, architecture-centric integration testing, model-driven exception management framework, context aware pervasive service engineering, and constraint-minimizing logical topology for wireless sensor networks. She will then focus on a recent work on pervasive software services engineering for SOAs, and then talk about ongoing work in dependable software services in the domain of sustainable manufacturing.

Short bio:

Dr Sita Ramakrishnan has Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the University of Bombay, and Master and Ph D degrees in Computing and Software Engineering from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. She has been researching and publishing in the areas of Object-Oriented (O-O), component-oriented and service-oriented architectures, methods and technologies over a number of years. She has secured and successfully completed a number of competitive funded grant projects from the Commonwealth Government of Australia and Monash University. As a senior member of the Faulty of Information Technology in Monash University, she is currently supervising 3 HDR students (2 PhD & 1 Masters) in the area software engineering, and over the years has supervised a number of graduate students to successful completion of Masters and PhD. She is Director of Software Engineering degree program in the Faculty of IT. She managed the process of formal accreditation of the software engineering course program by the Institution of Engineers of Australia and Australian Computer Society.
