Michele Buccoli was born in Cagliari in 1987. He received the B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from Università di Pisa in 2010. In 2013, he received the M.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano - Como Campus, with a thesis on a music search engine based on textual queries in natural language.
Since November 2013 he is a PhD Student in the Image and Sound Processing Group (ISPG) of the Politecnico di Milano. His research field is Music Information Retrieval and his PhD thesis mainly focuses on the modelling of high-level (semantic) music descriptors and on the development of novel automatic paradigms for research, browsing and music description. He also works on the application of Music Information Retrieval techniques for the study on networked music performances and bootleg detection.
