Silvia Strada was born in Milan, Italy, in 1965. She obtained the Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano in 1990 and the PhD from the same University in July 1994 with a dissertation on the active control of vibrations in helicopters (supervisor: Prof. Sergio Bittanti, co-advisor: Ing. B. Lovera (Agusta Spa)). Since September 1993 she has been an Assistant Professor at the Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione of the Politecnico di Milano. She has been Professor of Systems Theory and Automatic Control and, since the academic year 2003/04 until now, she has been teaching Fundamentals of Automatic Control within the Management Engineering program at the Politecnico di Milano. Her main research interests include identification and modelling, data-mining applied to economic and financial applications, advanced control applications.
