Emeritus Professor of Telecommunications. His research activities have been devoted to Synthetic Aperture Radar, seismic signal processing, digital systems for telecommunications and bioengineering. Since 2016, he is serving in the Earth Sciences Advisory Committee of the European Space Agency and in the Consulting Committee of the Italian Space Agency for the scientific evaluations for the Earth Observation activities within ESA.
