Monica Soncini has a Master degree in Electronic Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (1996) and has obtained a PhD degree in Bioengineering (2001) on dental implants biomechanics. She is currently working as Assistant Professor at the Politecnico di Milano. Her research activity is in the field of biomechanics at the molecular level: actomyosin complex mechanics, kinesin and microtubule interactions, micro-fluid-dynamic analyses for DNA electrophoresis microchip; and in the field of biomechanics of the cardiovascular system: signal analysis for the identification of clinical indexes, 3-D finite element analysis for the evaluation of cardiovascular devices and surgical corrections. Lecturer of the courses of Cellular Mechanics and Tissue Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino (2003-04, 2004-05) and of Molecular Biomechanics (2004-05) and Cellular Bioenginnering (2005-06, 2006-07) at the Politecnico di Milano. She is author of more than 60 publications (20 peer reviewed international papers).
