Simona Ferrante received the M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering from the Politecnico di Milano in 2002 and 2006, respsctively. She is Assistant professor at the Electronics, Information and Bioengineering Department of Politecnico di Milano since December 2012. She works at the NeuroEngineering And medical Robotics laboratory (www.nearlab.polimi.it
). She teaches Medical Informatics since 2010. Her main research interests are: the design and clinical translation of immersive devices based on the integration of functional electrical stimulation and robotic systems for the rehabilitation of neurological patients; the investigation of neurophysiological and cortical correlates to functional improvement due to rehabilitation; the modelling of healthcare processes in the Unified Modeling Language. She participated to the MUNDUS european project (FP7 ICT-2009.7.2) and she is the PI of a project for young researcher funded by the Ministry of Health (2012-14). She is the author of about 26 peer reviewed international papers published in journal indexed by Database Scopus/Isi Web of Knowledge, with an overall H-index=7 (nov 2013).
