Andrea Cataldo was born in Milan on 25/07/1970. On 20/10/1995 he graduated in Electronic Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. From 1996 to 1998 he worked as control engineer at Foster Wheeler Italiana where he was responsible for the design and commissioning of control systems for industrial plants. In 1998 he joined ABB Corporate Research Italy where he worked on methods and dynamic simulation tools for process industry besides the design and implementation of protection system algorithms for electrical grids. Since November 2002 he has been with the Institute of Industrial Technologies and Automation - National Research Council (ITIA-CNR), assuming the role of researcher and dealing with algorithms and tools for the development of advanced control systems for manufacturing. Also from 2012 is a PhD student at the Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria (DEIB) of the Politecnico di Milano where he is responsible for Model Predictive Control techniques applied to manufacturing plants.
