Yashar Deldjoo serves at Multimedia Signal Processing focused on Recommender Systems as a researcher and instructor. He received his BSc. degree in Electrical Engineering with straight honors from University of Guilan, Rasht, Iran in 2006. He received his MSc. degree in Electrical Engineering with the specialty in Communication and Signal Processing at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2010 where his degree was granted in highest distinction.
During the years 2008 to 2011, he worked as a research assistant at several research institutes in Europe, including: Multimedia Department of Ericsson Research at Stockholm, Sweden, during 2008-2009, Department of Image and Signal Processing at Télécom ParisTech, Paris, France in 2010 and Department of Signal Processing at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden during 2010- 2011.
During the years 2012 to 2014, he was the main responsible for a course named “Multimedia Environments” at department of computer engineering at University of Guilan, Rasht, Iran. He also offered and taught a nation-wide course plan for "Digital and Image and Video Processing levels I,II,III" as well as "Comprehensive Course of MATLAB for Electrical and Computer Engineers” at Tehran Institute of Technology that have been contemplated as the main teaching reference through all the branches of the institute in the country.
Since November 2014, he is a PhD fellow at the department of Electronics, Computer and Bioengineering (DEIB) of Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Cremonesi. His research interests focus on recommender systems, image processing and computer vision, multimedia and smart spaces.
Yashar also holds a BA. Degree in English with the specialty in linguistics from University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg, Sweden earned in 2011. He speaks Persian, English, French and Turkish (Azari) fluently and has working competence in Swedish and Italian languages.
