DAFNE: progetto per aiutare a gestire acqua, cibo, energia
September 15th, 2017
Abstract
Water, food and energy are the focus of the DAFNE project (Use of a Decision – Analytic Framework to explore the water – energy – food NExus in complex and trans – boundary water resources systems of fast growing developing countries).
DAFNE is a H2020 European project, which aims to define methods and tools for analysis and support of decisions in international contexts, characterized by strong competition for the use of water for energy and food.
DAFNE will be a decision-making model that will incorporate system-analysis tools from different disciplines (mathematical models, optimization algorithms, climate and socioeconomic scenarios, satellite imagery and high-resolution drone relief campaigns), will jointly consider the economic, social and environmental issues and will involve stakeholders.
Institutions, experts from various disciplines and organizations operating on the territory of the two selected case studies are invited to participate in the project by bringing their wealth of knowledge and having the opportunity to direct their choices according to a methodological approach developed by the research group of prof. Andrea Castelletti, responsible for DEIB - Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria at the Politecnico di Milano.
