The UML class diagram together with a set of additional process variables, called Artifact, form the information model of the process. All activities and conditions of the BPMN process refer to such an information model by means of OCL operation contracts.
We show that the resulting semantics while abstract is fully executable.
Montserrat Estañol is a researcher both at SIRIS Academic and at the Department of Service and Information Systems Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) - BarcelonaTech. She obtained her PhD from the same university in 2016. Her thesis dealt with the specification and reasoning on artifact-centric business process models. She has also taught an undergraduate course on software engineering at the same university and has been an invited lecturer at two different graduate courses. Her current research interests include conceptual modeling, artifact-centric business process modeling and automated reasoning on both conceptual schemas and artifact-centric business process models.
Xavier Oriol is currently a PhD Student at the Department of Service and Information Systems Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech.
He graduated from the same university in 2012. His current research interests include conceptual modeling, integrity checking/maintenance of constraints and automated reasoning on conceptual schemas.
